Intern & Master Thesis Student (May 2025 – April 2026)¶
Thüringer Fernwasserversorgung (TFW) | Erfurt, Germany Technical Division | Reservoir Management (Hydrology)
Introduced and independently applied the hydrological assessment procedure for drinking water reservoirs in Thuringia, including extreme value statistics and reservoir-specific evaluation methods
Setup, calibrated, and validated hydrological rainfall-runoff models using TALSIM-NG for catchments Ziegenrück/Plothenbach and Neuer Teich
Compared and evaluated simulation outputs across four modelling approaches: TALSIM-NG, J2000, LUTZ and KOSTRA-REWANUS
Developed Python scripts for automated hydrological data processing and reporting
Conducted GIS-based forest area analysis: classified 242 land parcels by water protection zone status (WSZ I–III), administrative responsibility and area size using BORIS-TH, InfoLika and Thüringen Viewer
Acquired hydrological geodata via WFS/WMS (ATKIS, ALKIS, KOSTRA-REWANUS, Thüringen Viewer) services as well as from the internal database of TFW
Participated in quarterly meetings, site visits, and hydrometry measurements
